Війна не стала для мене несподіванкою. Але саме відчуття війни не було мені знайоме раніше з власного досвіду. Та й не впевнений, що наразі по-справжньому знайоме.

Коли все почалося - я спав у своєму будиночку на Русанівських Садах у Києві та тільки перевернувся на другий бік, коли почув звук пролітаючої ракети та глухий вибух у далечині. Наступного дня о 4:20 ранку багатоповерховий будинок на Позняках, де я був на квартирі в той момент, здригнувся - ППО збили ракету на підльоті неподалік.

 

Родичі закликали мене їхати за кордон. Мені випав “щасливий квиток” після довгої черги на вокзалі Київ - Польща. Я зійшов у Львові. Пішов до тероборони, записався. Потім до добровольчої організації “Рабів до Раю не пускають” - вони дали мені маршрут, куди рухатися, якщо хочу воювати за Україну. Я пішов до райради, зареєструвався. Потім до військкомату - пройшов усі процедури по мобілізації. Потім прийшов о 9-й ранку з рюкзаком до розпред-центру і ввечері нас привезли з хлопцями до військової частини. 

Такий був у мене план: перегрупуватися, вийти з попередніх тунелів реальності - і піти до армії. Я вже уявляв себе у екіпіровці нацгвардії - і реакцію не байдужої мені дівчини, що наразі у Берліні…

Але того ж вечера я не пройшов співбесіди з військовими психологами. Вони охрестили мене “богемою”. Мене і ще двох хлопців відправили назад на Львів. Це було прикро.

Але в такій ситуації безперечно були й свої переваги.

 

Тоді я вирішив іти звичним для мене шляхом сучасного митця. Чим я власне займаюся вже понад 20 років свого життя. Починаючи з виставки “Мистецтво Шепоту” у Центрі Сучасного Мистецтва в Києві, яку я робив як переможець конкурсу грантів фондів “Відродження” та ProHelvetia. Також у Музеї Революції Гідності є колекція моїх щитів з Майдану, на яких я відтворив реперні точки тих подій. 

 

Я вважаю, що моя місія як художника - рефлексувати щодо явищ та подій навколишнього світу, які відображають Дух Часу, досліджувати як ці явища - найбільш гострі - так і свої відчуття щодо них. Були періоди, коли я був як художник далекий від реальності - досліджував свій внутрішній світ, або якісь міфічні паралельні світи…

 

Але не зараз. 

 

Енергію, яку не витратив на війну, я спрямував на концептуальний інфо-спротив та мистецтво. Так і з'явилися ці картини. Малював їх на тому, що було, тими засобами, які мені надало середовище. Тому я сприймаю своє перебування на Заводі як арт-резиденцію. Думаю, майже для всіх учасників проекту це так само.

 

Про проект

 

Завод став “матеріалізатором потреб” для деяких тимчасово переселених осіб з різних областей України. Переважно людей творчого типу, митців. Ситуація вимагала спільного проекту, на який можна спрямувати свої творчі зусилля. Таким безперечно мав стати тільки проект, що є спротивом агресору. Проект, який самим своїм існуванням стверджував би, що мистецтво, як важлива частина соціального організму в Україні - живе. Як і свобода мистецького самовираження. Жива душа і гострий розум нашого народу.

Попри війну триває життя і розвиток на індивідуальному та колективному рівні.

 

Окремо варто зазначити про сінергію людей, що зібралися у спільному просторі. 

 

Це було саме те, що я декларував від самого початку в т.ч. на сторінці LCC.UA на фейсбуці, коли це місце, де відбувається виставка ще було завалено постіндустріальним мотлохом. Фактично проекція арт-студії й тих завдань, які вона перед собою ставить, втілюється. 

 

І це спільна заслуга усіх тих, хто бере участь у проекті, ініціативу з проведення якого взяла на себе відома Львівська стріт-артівська команда Kepsko. 

 

Радий відчувати себе частиною цього процесу.

 

Радикальне самовключення та самоорганізація, акціонізм, перформативне мистецтво, концептуальні об'єкти та реді-мейд об'єкти, інсталяції, муралізм та стріт арт, мистецтво швидкого реагування, мульті-медіа та мульти-жанровість - це лише деякі інгредієнти того коктейлю з якого складається проект. 

У цьому діалозі кожен на першому місці. Загальна концентрація мистецьких поглядів слугує тлом для кожного автора, щоби висловити свою позицію у якомога більш індивідуальному стилі. У такому середовищі співіснування авторів не виключає діалогу навіть з антагоністичних позицій. 

 

Спільним є лише чітке усвідомлення митцями свого права висловлюватися під час ситуації, яка є наслідком кровопролитного й руйнівного вторгнення ворога в Україну. Тобто під час війни з росією.

 

Ми є Україна - і свобода висловлювання є нашою беззаперечною цінністю. Тому цією виставкою ми ведемо діалог з усім світом. І наше головне послання світові: Україна жива, вона не зламалася, а навпаки з примноженою силою працює над тими місіями, які наближають нас до перемоги. У тому числі й сучасними мистецькими проектами.

Україна врятує світ. А мистецтво допоможе зберегти пам'ять про цю велику війну за наше майбутнє.

The war did not come as a surprise to me. But the very feeling of war was not familiar to me from my own experience. And I'm not sure it's really familiar now.

 

When it all started, I was sleeping in my house in Rusanivske Sady in Kyiv and only turned over when I heard the sound of a rocket flying and a deafening explosion in the distance. The next day at 4:20 am a multi-storey building in Pozniaky, where I was in an apartment at the time, shuddered - the air defense shot down a missile on the approach nearby.

 

My relatives encouraged me to go abroad. I got a "lucky ticket" after a long queue at the station Kyiv - Poland. I went down in Lviv. Went to the defense, signed up. Then to the voluntary organization "Slaves are not allowed to paradise" - they gave me a route where to go if I want to fight for Ukraine. I went to the district council and registered. Then to the military registration and enlistment office - passed all procedures on mobilization. Then I came to the distribution center at 9 am with a backpack and in the evening we were brought with the guys to the military unit. This was my plan: to regroup, get out of the previous tunnels of reality - and go to the army. I already imagined myself in the equipment of the National Guard - and the reaction of a girl who is not indifferent to me, who is currently in Berlin…

But that evening I did not pass an interview with military psychologists. They christened me "bohemian." Me and two other guys were sent back to Lviv. It was annoying.

 

But in this situation there were definitely advantages.

 

Then I decided to follow the path of a contemporary artist that is familiar to me. What I've been doing for over 20 years of my life. Starting with the Art of Whisper exhibition at the Center for Contemporary Art in Kyiv, which I won as a winner of the Renaissance and ProHelvetia grant competitions. The Museum of the Revolution of Dignity also has a collection of my shields from the Maidan, on which I recreated the reference points of those events.

 

I believe that my mission as an artist is to reflect on the phenomena and events of the world around us that reflect the Spirit of Time, to explore both these phenomena - the most acute - and my feelings about them. There were times when I was far from reality as an artist - exploring my inner world, or some mythical parallel worlds…

 

But not now.

 

The energy I didn't spend on the war I spent on conceptual info-resistance and art. And so these pictures appeared. I painted them on the means that the environment gave me. That's why I perceive my stay at the Factory as an art residence. I think it's the same for almost all project participants.

 

About the Project

 

The plant has become a "materializer of needs" for some temporarily displaced persons from different regions of Ukraine. Mostly creative people, artists. The situation required a joint project on which to focus their creative efforts. Undoubtedly, only a project that resists the aggressor should have become such. A project that by its very existence would claim that art, as an important part of the social organism in Ukraine, is alive. 

 

As well as freedom of artistic expression. The living soul and sharp mind of our people.

Despite the war, life and development continue on an individual and collective level.

 

It is worth mentioning the synergy of people gathered in a common space.

This was exactly what I declared from the very beginning, including on the LCC.UA Facebook page, when the place where the exhibition takes place was still littered with post-industrial rubbish. In fact, the projection of the art studio and the tasks it sets for itself is embodied.

 

And this is a joint merit of all those who participate in the project, which was initiated by the famous Lviv street art team Kepsko. 

 

Glad to feel part of this process.

 

Radical self-inclusion and self-organization, actionism, performing arts, conceptual and ready-made objects, installations, muralism and street art, rapid response art, multi-media and multi-genre are just some of the ingredients of the cocktail project. In this dialogue, everyone comes first. The general concentration of artistic views serves as a background for each author to express his position in the most individual style. In such an environment, the coexistence of authors does not exclude dialogue, even from antagonistic positions.

 

The only thing the artists have in common is a clear awareness of their right to express themselves in a situation that is the result of a bloody and destructive enemy invasion of Ukraine.

 

We are Ukraine - and freedom of expression is our undeniable value. That is why with this exhibition we have a dialogue with the whole world. And our main message to the world: Ukraine is alive, it has not broken, but on the contrary is working with increasing force on those missions that bring us closer to victory. Including modern art projects.

 

Ukraine will save the world. And art will help preserve the memory of this war for our future.
